RE: Availability of "Sources of Assistance for Schools" and New Electronic Documentation for 2002-2003

The Department is pleased to announce the posting of a new document called "Sources of Assistance for Schools" on the Department's SFAdownload Web site (located at www.fsadownload.ed.gov). We also wish to announce our plans for posting the 2002-2003 ISIR Comment Codes and Text and the electronic desk references on IFAP.

Sources of Assistance for Schools

Information formerly found in the various Technical References and Desk References, regarding phone numbers, e-mail addresses, Web site addresses, etc. has been moved to one single source document, called "Sources of Assistance for Schools". This document appears on the SFAdownload and will be updated monthly as needed.

2002-2003 ISIR Comment Codes and Text

In previous award cycles, the ISIR Comment Codes and Text were printed in the EDE Technical Reference. To get updated comment text out to the community more efficiently, beginning with the 2002-2003 award year, the Department will post the ISIR Comment Codes and Text as a separate document on IFAP. This document will also be posted on the Department's SFAdownload Web site (located at www.fsadownload.ed.gov) and will be updated on a monthly basis as needed.

2002-2003 Electronic Desk References

The Department will also post the 2002-2003 desk references for the EDESuite software products on the Department's SFAdownload Web site (located at www.fsadownload.ed.gov) . The electronic versions of the desk references will replace the printed desk references that we previously distributed.

The corresponding EDExpress electronic desk reference will be posted as each version of 2002-2003 EDExpress becomes available. These electronic desk references will cover Application Processing, Packaging, Direct Loan, and Pell functionality respectively. Electronic desk references will also be posted for new versions of QA Tool and DL Tools as they become available.

The electronic format of "Sources of Assistance for Schools," the ISIR Comment Codes and Text document, and the Electronic desk references will enable the documents to be updated in a timely manner ensuring you have the most up-to-date information available.
