RE: September 20, 2001 Problem With RFMS Origination Acknowledgment Batches

On September 20, 2001 RFMS created origination batch acknowledgments that had incorrect record lengths. This caused schools using EDExpress to receive batch integrity errors when they tried to import the batches. Some schools using third-party software programs were also unable to import the batches. The problem pertained to both 2000-2001 and 2001-2002 batches.

We corrected the faulty record length and resent the origination acknowledgment batches to schools on September 21, 2001.

We regret this inconvenience to the schools that received the invalid record length batches. Should you have any questions or need assistance on this matter, please call the Pell Grant Customer Service at 1-800-474-7268 or send an email to pell.systems@ed.gov.
