RE: Edit 9320 in 2002-2003 FISAP software
DATE: August 31, 2001
The U.S. Department of Education would like to inform you of the edit you will receive in 2002-2003 FISAP for Windows (Versions 4.0 and 4.1) if you are a continuing school and do not participate in the Federal Work-Study (FWS) program.
*Issue*
If you are a continuing school and do not participate in the FWS program, you are not required to enter values in Part V, Section H, Field 27 and 27a. However, you will receive Edit 9320 when you run Process | Validate with the FISAP record closed or when you export Current FISAP data. The message you will receive for Edit 9320 states "The amount entered in Part V, Section H, field 27a must be equal to or less than the amount entered in field 27. Further, field 27 and 27a must always be greater than zero."
*Workaround*
If you do not participate in the FWS program, the Department requests that you click the "Ignore" option for Edit 9320 when running Process | Validate. Transmit the FISAP record to the FISAP processor as usual and the edit will be suppressed when the FISAP data is processed.
