RE: INS Secondary Confirmation Comments and 2001-2002 EDExpress

CPS/WAN Technical Support wishes to advise you of the changes affecting the 2001-2002 EDExpress for Windows, Version 7.0, 7.1, and 7.2 with the implementation of the INS Secondary Confirmation Match. The related SAR/ISIR Comment Codes will affect ISIR printing and the viewing of these comment codes.

With the implementation of the INS Secondary Confirmation Match, the wording of comment 144 was modified slightly, and several other comment codes (46, 105, 109, and 120) were added to the list of possible comment codes.

Since the modification to the comment codes was made after the release of 2001-2002 EDExpress Version 7.2, the software does not contain these updates to the comment codes. As a result, ISIRs printed from EDExpress will display the original text associated for comment 144, and no text will print for comments 46, 105, 109, or 120. When viewing the ISIR comments from the SAR/ISIR tab, the message "Unable to retrieve message for comment XXX" will display for these comments (where XXX equals the comment code number).

Please refer to the electronic announcement titled "Implementation of the INS Secondary Confirmation Match in 2001-2002", dated August 2, 2001, on IFAP (

ifap.ed.gov) for the new SAR/ISIR comments associated with these new codes and additional information regarding the implementation of the INS Secondary Confirmation Match.

We regret any confusion or inconvenience this change may cause for you. If you have any questions regarding this message, please contact CPS/WAN Technical Support at 800/330-5947 or via email at
