SUBJECT: 2001-2002 Weekly Announcement #1 – March 23, 2001
This is the first in a series of weekly announcements showing the status of 2001-2002
FAFSA processing.
SFA started processing 2001-2002 FAFSAs a week earlier than prior years. We are now in our 11th week of processing. We are proud to announce that the volume of forms has increased overall by 5% and we are well within our processing turnaround times. In the following table you will find a comparison of FAFSA processing for the 2001-02 and 2000-01 processing cycles, which have been adjusted in order to allow for the difference in start up times.
In addition to the 896,678 applications that have been submitted electronically, there are almost 200,000 FAFSA on the Web, Renewal FAFSA on the Web, and FAFSA Express applications on the hold file, waiting for signatures to be submitted by students
