RE: FISAP Import Edit Report Incorrectly Flagging Perkins Data
CPS Customer Service recently identified an issue in FISAP Versions 3.0 and 3.1 affecting schools reporting Perkins Cash-on-Hand data to the FISAP processor. When importing recently sent FISAP edit files (FIDT02OP), the FISAP software is incorrectly flagging a discrepancy with the Perkins Cash-on-Hand data.
Software Issue: This data discrepancy is occurring on the edit comparison report because the Perkins Cash-on-Hand data is sent with leading zeroes in the FISAP edit file, but is not stored with leading zeroes in the FISAP database. For example, a Perkins Cash-on-Hand balance of $300 is sent back as "000300" in the FISAP edit file, but is stored as "300" in the FISAP database. During the import of the FISAP edit file, the software is identifying this as a discrepancy when there actually is none.
Workaround: If your Perkins Cash-on-Hand data is flagged as a discrepancy on your FISAP edit comparison report, check the actual data in question. If the actual amount listed (after the leading zeroes) is correct, you do not need to correct and/or resubmit the Perkins Cash-on-Hand data to the FISAP processor.
