RE: Delays in Pell Statements of Account

Due to an increase in the volume of data received and the running
of the programs associated with the Second Administrative Cost
Allowance Payment for 1999-2000, RFMS has been experiencing delays in
transmitting financial data to the GAPS (Grant Administration and
Payment System).

Pell/RFMS is working to minimize delays and complete processing on
any delayed transmissions to GAPS as quickly as possible.

RFMS processing of Originations, Disbursements and Data Requests have
not been effected.

Effected schools should receive their Statements of Account within the next
day or two. RFMS appreciates your patience and understanding at this time.

RFMS will begin to run the programs associated with the Verification W
deobligation for 1999-2000 in the near future. While we will work to
minimize all possible delays, this too may create a slowing of normal daily
transmissions of financial data from RFMS to GAPS. We apologize in
advance for any inconvenience this may cause.
