PublicationDate: 6/6/2000 Summary: Availability of EDExpress Version 6.2.1 Service Release Author: General Manager: SFA Student Channel TO: All EDExpress Users FROM: U.S. Department of Education RE: Availability of EDExpress Version 6.2.1 Service Release The Department wishes to alert all 2000-2001 EDExpress users to the availability of service release Version 6.2.1. This is an upgrade to Version 6.2, and will resolve two issues in the Pell module. Version 6.2.1 is available for download from the Department's SFAdownload Web site at http://www.SFAdownload.ed.gov. The downloadable install file, called EDExpress621.exe, is self-extracting and will need to be run on ALL PC workstations that access the 2000-2001 EDExpress database. The two issues resolved by Version 6.2.1 are explained below: 1) CM #2824: In Version 6.2, the Total Payment Ceiling is always calculating as zero for Origination records created using Academic Calendar 6 (Credit hours without terms) and Payment Methodology 4. The incorrect Total Payment Ceiling value prevents schools using this calculation method from submitting an Award Amount for the Entire School Year greater than zero to RFMS. 2) CM #2830: When the ellipses button next to Transaction Number on the Pell Grant tab is clicked (to change to another Pell-eligible ISIR transaction number) in Version 6.2, the software is placing an asterisk next to the Verification Status Code. EDExpress then treats the Origination record as if it were based on an ISIR transaction selected for verification, regardless of the ISIR transaction's actual verification status. To run the service release install, download the EDExpress621.exe file from the SFAdownload site to a directory on your hard drive or network. Close all running applications, go to Start | Run, type in the directory location of the downloaded file, type the file name itself (I.E. C:then click OK. This will extract the necessary install files and automatically launch the install program. If you have multiple PC workstations accessing a networked EDExpress database, copy the install file from PC to PC, running the install on each as you proceed, or run the installation program from the network drive it is saved to. Be sure to reboot each PC Version 6.2.1 is installed on once the installation program is complete. Version 6.2.1 will not perform any updates to your EDExpress database (Expres01.mdb).
