PublicationDate: 6/1/2000 Summary: Development of EDExpress Version 6.2.1 Service Release Author: General Manager: SFA Student Channel Posted on June 1, 2000 TO: All EDExpress Users FROM: U.S. Department of Education RE: Development of EDExpress Version 6.2.1 Service Release The Department wishes to alert all 2000-2001 EDExpress users that we are developing a service release, Version 6.2.1, to resolve two issues in the Pell module. This service release will be an upgrade to Version 6.2. Version 6.2.1 will be available shortly for download from the Department's SFAdownload Web site at http://fsadownload.ed.gov/index.htm. We will send an additional message to the community when the installation file is posted to the site. The two issues resolved by Version 6.2.1 are explained below: 1) CM #2824: In Version 6.2, the Total Payment Ceiling is always calculating as zero for Origination records created using Academic Calendar 6 (Credit hours without terms) and Payment Methodology 4. The incorrect Total Payment Ceiling value prevents schools using this calculation method from submitting an Origination Award Amount for the Entire School Year greater than zero to RFMS. Workaround in Version 6.2: None. 2) CM #2830: When the ellipses button next to Transaction Number on the Pell Grant tab is clicked (to change to another Pell-eligible ISIR transaction number) in Version 6.2, the software is placing an asterisk next to the Verification Status Code. EDExpress then treats the Origination record as if it were based on an ISIR transaction selected for verification, regardless of the ISIR transaction's actual verification status. Workaround in Version 6.2: If the Origination record is not at a "B" (Batched) or "A" (Accepted) Origination Status, delete the Origination Record. You can then import the specific ISIR transaction you wish to base the Origination Record on (via File | Import | Pell | Origination Data - ISIR) by using selection criteria.
