RE: Development of EDExpress Version 5.4.2 Service Release

We wish to inform all 1999-2000 EDExpress users that we are currently
developing service release Version 5.4.2 to add several Pell module
enhancements to the software. This service release is currently scheduled
for release to schools for download from ED's SFAdownload Web site
(
http://fsadownload.ed.gov/index.htm) in mid-April, 2000.

The following Pell enhancements will be installed by Version 5.4.2:

1) A new Pell report will be added called List - Processed Disbursements
Year-to-Date. This report will print the Year-to-Date total of all accepted
and corrected Pell Disbursement amounts per student, and is intended to
assist schools with Pell reconciliation tasks. Schools can print the report
in Last Name or Origination ID order.

2) When printing the Disbursement List in Name order, students with the same
full name (first name, last name, middle initial) will be grouped together
by SSN rather than Disbursement Reference Number.

3) When performing a comparison during a Pell Year-to-Date (YTD) import, the
software will only print exceptions for student records with matching
attended campus IDs in the YTD file and the EDExpress database.

4) Multiple Reporting Record (MRR) import logic will be updated to perform
appropriate database updates and to sort and print more specific import
reports when importing MRR files that contain more than one record type.

We will send out an additional network message when the service release is
available and provide information at that time regarding how to locate and
download the install file from the Web.
