THIS MESSAGE - Tells you what is new in the 2000 - 2001 RFMS processing and Record layouts

There are few changes to the Recipient Financial Management System for the 2000-2001 processing cycle. All the changes are listed below:

Per the Federal Pell Grant Payment Schedules posted on IFAP (http://ifap.ed.gov), the maximum EFC is 3100 and the maximum Pell Grant is $3,300.

Please refer to the Alternate Federal Pell Grant Schedules for Students with Low
Assessed Tuition posted on IFAP for changes in values applicable for 2000-2001.

The Special Disbursement and Special Disbursement Acknowledgment record layouts have been modified to include a new field in positions 103 to 109: Total funds disbursed for this payment period previously reported using a regular disbursement record.

Processing Notes/Edits have been updated on many of the layouts, especially on the Special Disbursement and Special Disbursement Acknowledgment record layouts.

The Batch Replacement option has been removed from Data Requests. RFMS cannot provide the complete batch if any records were rejected during processing.

Cartridge and Reel are no longer acceptable media types and have been replaced with Filler or Blanks on the appropriate record layouts. For 2000-2001 and future years, all Federal Pell Grant data must be transmitted electronically over TIV WAN or the Internet.

Data Request for Year To Date now allows institutions to submit a request for a specific Student ID. This enhancement enables institutions to request data for only the specific students they need year to date data on.

YTD Summary - The valid values have been updated to accurately reflect a length of 7 for the field length on all count fields.
