Dear Partner:

The U. S. Department of Education (ED) cordially invites you to attend a conference for Third-Party Software Developers, their customers and mainframe institutions who develop their own software. This conference will be held February 18, 2000 in Arlington, VA. This one day conference will offer participants an opportunity to meet the new Chief Information Office (CIO) management team, learn more about EDÂ’s re-engineering vision and provide an opportunity to build better partnerships. The agenda will include:

Aid Origination & Disbursement IPT Update
SFA IT Vision
Capability Release
New System Architecture
Interfaces & APIs for Developers
New Portals for Customers
VDC Standards & Test Environments
PINs and Digital Certificates
Innovations for Pilot Software Programs


The conference will begin at 7:30 a.m. on February 18 with a continental breakfast and end at 4:00 pm with a wrap up and action items. A working lunch will be provided. There is no registration fee for this conference. The conference will be held at the Arlington Hilton & Towers. Additional information on this conference can be found on the World Wide Web at the
