RE: FAFSA on the Web Server Outage

Due to an error made by National Computer Systems (NCS) during a server conversion, all 1999-2000 FAFSA on the Web applications, Renewal FAFSA on the Web applications and Correction on the Web records filed between 8:40 PM CT on December 15, 1999 and 1:34 PM CT on December 16, 1999 were lost and are not recoverable. Any student who filed during that time block must refile their FAFSA application, Renewal application, or correction.

The issue with the server has been resolved. Any applications or corrections successfully transmitted via the FAFSA on the Web after 1:34 PM CT on December 16, 1999 were not affected.

Please communicate this information to your students, and encourage them to refile via FAFSA on the Web. Your students can also check their application status by going to the "Check my Submitted FAFSA" feature from the "Entering a FAFSA Online" link.

NCS apologizes for the inconvenience this issue creates for you and your students. If you have any questions, please contact FAFSA on the Web Customer Service at 800-801-0576/TTY 800-511-5806, or via email at FAFSAWeb@NCS.COM.
