This message announces the electronic release of the Electronic Data

(EDE) Technical Reference for 2000-2001 on the U.S. Department of
Education's Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) web site,

http://www.ifap.ed.gov.

The Electronic Data Exchange Technical Reference provides programmer
specifications and record layouts for schools or other organizations that
need to design software systems to interface with ED's software for EDE
data.

NOTE: An amended version of this Technical Reference will be posted in the
near future to provide updated information regarding the Drug Offense

values for the Drug Offense Conviction questions. The valid values have
been revised to 1 (Eligible), 2 (Partially Eligible, will become eligible
during the award year), 3 (Ineligible or don't know) or blank.
