| PublicationDate: 11/3/99 Summary: RFMS Web Page Security Enhancement Author: PSS - Program Systems Service Posted on November 03, 1999 TO: All Destination Points FROM: RFMS RE: RFMS Web Page Security Enhancement RFMS is pleased to announce security changes to the RFMS web page (www.pellgrantsonline.ed.gov) to create a more secure web page. The web page was temporally unavailable on Sunday, October 31, 1999 from 12:00 to 6:00 PM while these changes were implemented. Users of the web page will be required to provide on their first visit (or the first visit since the changes in security): _ Pell Id number _ TG number _ The Social Security number for the person assigned the TG number _ The date of birth for the person assigned the TG number _ The mother's maiden name for the person assigned the TG number Users will need to reset their passwords for the web page. All userids/passwords previously established became void on November 1, 1999. By offering a more secure web page, RFMS is able to resume accepting data requests through the web. We plan to further enhance the web page in the coming months and we will notify the Financial Aid Community when any changes are to be made. |
