Dear Partner:

The National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) is pleased to announce the availability of Release II web pages for schools and Guaranty Agencies (GA). In July 1999, we announced our new web site,
HTTP://WWW.NSLDSFAP.ED.GOV. The original release included Loan History and Loan Detail and some Organization information. The new release includes all NSLDS online functionality.

The pages that are now available include:

Loan History: Provides a listing of a borrower's loans and summary information for each loan,
includes warning and information flags, as well as aggregates (defined exactly like the
ones on an ISIR).
Loan Detail: Provides detailed historical information for a selected loan.
Pell Grant History: Lists all Pell Grants a student has received since 1993-94.
Enrollment History: Lists the schools a student has attended while receiving Title IV loans.
Enrollment Update: Permits approved users to update enrollment information and to respond to individual records that appear on an SSCR.
Overpayment History: Lists overpayments for an individual student and links to contact information.
Overpayment Update: Permits approved users to update existing overpayments or add new overpayments (This feature will be added within a week or so. If you are permitted to add/update, please watch the Overpayment page for this feature. You will see an "add button" for additional overpayments or for updating, the numbers in front of the overpayment will be linkable).
Organization Search: Permits any user to search for an organization based upon a name or OPE ID, GA or lender code and to connect to the corresponding contact information
Organization Update: Permits any user at an organization to update the contact information.
Data Provider Schedule: Displays schedules for future data provider submissions as well as receipt dates of past submissions

To access these user-friendly pages containing valuable information, simply use your existing NSLDS User ID and password. Users will have access to a page only if they signed up for that function on the Title IV WAN Enrollment Form. If you do not have access to a page that you need, you will need to complete a new Enrollment Form requesting access to that page. The form can be found at
HTTP://WWW.IFAP.ED.GOV, Gen-98-24.

These screens were designed for ease of use and to facilitate communication among student aid professionals. On almost every screen, you can click on the name of an organization (school, guaranty agency, lender or ED) and view the names, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses of individuals at that organization. For this feature to work effectively, it is critical that each organization update their contact information and keep it current. The new web pages make this extremely easy and we ask that all schools review and update their contacts as soon as they possibly can.

It is the Department's intention to continue improving these screens. If you have a new function you would like to see added, or a suggestion on how to enhance the existing screens, please let us know. You should forward your suggestions to the NSLDS Customer Service Center at (800) 999-8219 or NSLDSCOE@raytheon.com.

We encourage you to review
HTTP://WWW.NSLDSFAP.ED.GOV soon and familiarize yourself with the screens. The Department will soon eliminate access to the existing CICS screens that are accessed through Title IV WAN.

Sincerely,

F. Lynn Alexander, Director
National Student Loan Data System
