PublicationDate: 5/4/99 Summary: Vacancy Announcement - Two Institutional Improvement Specialist Positions in Seattle, Washington Author: Posted on May 7, 1999 The U.S. Department of Education (ED) has posted two vacancy announcements for one Institutional Improvement Specialist (IIS) position in Seattle, Washington. Both announcements close on May 14, 1999. Interested applicants may apply at the highest grade (GS-12 or GS-13) for which they qualify. Those who qualify at both grade levels may improve their chance of being selected by applying under both vacancy announcements. The IIS works with institutions to help them improve their administration of the Title IV Student Financial Assistance Programs. This can be through answering questions by phone or in writing, giving presentations, providing training to individuals or groups, or evaluating institutional systems and suggesting improvements. As a technical expert, the IIS will also provide training to ED staff. The Seattle Case Management Team has responsibility for Title IV eligible institutions in the states of Alaska, Idaho, Indiana, Oregon, and Washington. Frequent travel will be required within these states and to other parts of the country.
