PublicationDate: 7/2/98 Summary: Updating the Federal School Code List Author: CPS - Central Processing System (CPS) Posted July 2, 1998 To: All EDE Destination Points From: CPS Customer Service RE: Updating the Federal School Code List Once again it is time to update the Federal School Code List (formally known as the Title IV School Code). The Federal School Code List is sent to high schools, libraries, postsecondary institutions and is also the institution list within EDExpress, FAFSA Express, FAFSA on the Web, and is used by the MDE processors. The Federal School Code List enables a student to list your institution on their Free Application for Federal Student Aid, so your institution may receive the student's record electronically. A letter was mailed to your institution requesting the contact name, address, and code be reviewed for any errors or changes. If your school code, name, and address are correct, no response to the letter is necessary. However, if a change is required, please sign the letter and return it with all changes to: CPS Customer Service, Federal Student Aid Programs, P.O. Box 4208, Iowa City, IA 52244 or FAX to (319) 358-4260 no later than July 15, 1998. Information received after that date will be updated on the Federal School Code file for 1999-2000 but will not be included in the 1999-2000 paper-based Federal School Code List. If you have any questions, please call CPS Customer Service at 800/330-5947, option 8, then option 1 for Application Processing. No change to your codes information can be made via the telephone. |
