Subject: Upcoming EDExpress Release Information

The next version of EDExpress (version 3.2) will be signed off by
the Department by 3/7/97 and will be distributed by 3/14/97.
Version 3.2 will contain the following functions:

1. All packaging components except:

A. Measurement Report-Funds - This is a
new report that will break down the funds
counts, amounts, and overall percentages of
overall funds. This report will be implemented in
Version 3.3.

B. Verification Worksheet Tab - This tab
will allow you to enter verification
worksheet/tax information and compare it to an
existing ISIR to automatically create a
correction record. This will be implemented in
Version 3.3.

2. All Direct Loan components with the
exception of:

A. Measurement Tools

B. LOC Net Amount List

C. Anticipated/Actual Disbursement List

D. In-School Deferment Form Print

These functions will be delivered in Version 3.3. This version will
be signed off by April 30 and will be distributed by May 7.

The following Configuration Management requests will be
implemented in Version 3.2:

When exporting FDRs a valid school code will
not be required.

Description:
SARR98OP files now can be imported via the

Description:
If there are more than 10 comment numbers to
be printed, the additional comment numbers will
be right-justified on the printed ISIR.

The "or" option in query set-up is now available.

ISIR comment 69 now references 97-98 instead
of 96-97.

Description:
The dummy student SSN of "ZZZZZZZZ" will
not have documents added to it. If you run the
add document process any previous documents
added to this dummy ID will be deleted.

Description:
The error which occurs when clicking on the
DOCS tab because there are more than 25
documents defined in
Tools/Setup/Global/Document Tracking
will no longer occur.

SSCR is also not included in this version. Use the 1996-97 software,
Version 2.7, for spring SSCR processing. Student Entry is also not
included in this version. Both Student Entry and 1997-98 SSCR will
be included in the next version (Version 3.3) currently scheduled for
release in early May.

Other configuration management items that will be implemented in
the next version (Version 3.3) are as follows:

Description:
When setting up the assumed institution via
the Tools/Setup/App Express/System
process, the software will not accept a school
code that beings with E or G.

Work Around:
Set up the assumed
institution in
Tools/Setup/Global/Institution.

Description:
The following NSLDS data fields on the ISIR
will print correctly:

1. When current holder code is 6 zeros, it
will not print blank.
2. The active bankruptcy and defaulted loan
flags will print N when the value is blank.
3. If outstanding principal balance is blank,
blank will print rather than zeros.
4. Region code will always print.

Description:
ISIR Print does not print the Social Security
Number in the SSN field. It does correctly
print at the top of the page and is stored
correctly in the database.

Description:
The verification worksheet form will be
printed from EDExpress.

Copy the verification
worksheet from the EDE
Technical Reference.

name will print as well as the Social Security
Number.

The heading under Perkins Loans in the
