PublicationDate: 2/20/98 Summary: Tip of the Week - Grid Search Logic Author: CPS - Central Processing System (CPS) Posted February 20, 1998 To: All EDExpress Users From: CPS Customer Service RE: Tip of the Week - Grid Search Logic CPS Customer Service is pleased to announce it will begin sending a weekly "Tip of the Week" network message highlighting a specific feature or process in the EDExpress software. This week's Tip: Using the grid search logic Feature/Process: In the 1998-99 EDExpress software a new grid search logic has been added to improve sorting and search capabilities. This feature will be enabled wherever a browsable grid is displayed. To use the sort or search feature, use the mouse and right-click on any column title bar (representing the column in which to search or sort) in the browsable grid. You have four options to choose from: Find, Quick Sort Ascending, Quick Sort Descending, and Freeze Column. Why you should use it: The grid logic can be helpful in a variety of ways. For example, the 'Find' feature can help you find the field name you're looking for when creating queries and clicking on 'Value Help' to view valid field content. 'Quick Sort Ascending' and 'Quick Sort Descending' can be used to quickly change the sort order in 'Choose Selected Records' from SSN to Alpha order. When scrolling through a browsable list with many columns, use 'Freeze Column' to keep the student's name in view.
