PublicationDate: 4/9/99 Summary: Tip of the Week -- EDExpress and EDconnect compatibility Author: CPS - Central Processing System (CPS) Posted on April 9, 1999 TO: All Destination Points FROM: CPS Customer Service RE: Tip of the Week -- EDExpress and EDconnect compatibility This week's tip highlights a feature or process in the 1999-2000 EDExpress software: EDExpress and EDconnect compatibility Several EDExpress users have received the error message "Failed to create T4API dispatch" when attempting to export application and correction batches in Versions 5.0 and 5.1. Users receiving this message have the "Export to EDconnect?" option activated on their User ID profile under ToolsUsers. This option must be de-selected for the affected User ID (and for any other users who perform exports) for exports to complete without generating the above error message. Export files will be created when the error message occurs, but will need to be manually formatted in the EDconnect transmission queue. EDExpress Versions 5.0 and 5.1 are 32-bit products, while EDconnect for Windows Version 2.3 is a 16-bit product; this difference in design platforms prevents these versions of EDExpress and EDconnect from directly "talking" to each other. You can re-activate the "Export to EDconnect?" setup option on User ID profiles in 1999-2000 EDExpress when you install and put into production the 32-bit EDconnect software. The automatic format and export feature will continue to work successfully in all 16-bit EDE applications, such as 1998-1999 EDExpress and Pell Payment for Windows, as long as you continue to use 16-bit EDconnect. However, you will need to deactivate the automatic format and export feature in such products as EDExpress Version 4.4 and Pell Payment Version 2.2 when you put 32-bit EDconnect into production. If you use 16-bit EDconnect for Windows and your mainframe system to transmit data, do not convert to 32-bit EDconnect.
