PublicationDate: 1/15/99 Summary: Tip of the Week --- Custom Installing Selected Modules Author: CPS - Central Processing System (CPS) Posted January 15, 1999 TO: All Destination Points FROM: CPS Customer Service RE: Tip of the Week --- Custom Installing Selected Modules This week's tip highlights a feature or process in the new 1999-2000 EDExpress software: Custom Installing Selected Modules. In the 1999-2000 EDExpress software, you can choose the modules you wish to install. The software will always install the Global and Application Processing modules. However, you can use the Custom Install option to install the Packaging, Pell and/or Direct Loan modules. The first 1999-2000 EDExpress software release, Version 5.0, has been shipped with Global, Application Processing and Packaging functionality. If you do not want to install the Packaging module, follow the steps below: 1) During the standalone or network workstation installation process of EDExpress 5.0, when given the prompt to select the install setup type, choose Custom (instead of Full) and click the Next button. 2) You will be asked to select the components of EDExpress you wish to install. Global and Apps will automatically be selected. Mark the checkbox for Help and, if this is the first time you are installing the 1999-2000 EDExpress, also mark the checkbox for Database. NOTE: Choosing Database will overwrite any previous 1999-2000 EDExpress database, so you should only select Database the first time you are installing the software. 3) Leave the Packaging checkbox blank, click the Next button and proceed with the installation. When you access and begin using the software, all Packaging options will be completely removed. When you receive subsequent versions of EDExpress, you can again choose Custom Install and only select the modules you use. Please refer to the 1999-2000 EDExpress Install Guide for more information.
