Content of the Report
Section 668.49 of the Student Assistance General Provisions requires each institution
that offers athletically related student aid to report certain information to the Secretary
of Education by July 1 of each year. For the 1997 report, the institution must report
1995-96 data. Specifically, the institution is required to report the number of students,
categorized by race and gender, who attended the institution the institution during
1995-96. From that data, the institution must report the number of students that received
athletically related student aid, categorized by race and gender within each sport.
Section 668.41 of these regulations define athletically related student aid and sport. If an
institution is term-based, the institution may use the 1995 Fall IPEDS enrollment data to
report this information; likewise, the data for athletes would be for Fall 1995.

Where to send the report
The institution must send the 1997 report to the U.S. Department of Education, Athletic
Graduation Rate Data, Post Office Box 96159, Washington, DC 20090-6159.
