SUBJECT: Revised 1999-2000 Financial Aid Transcript (FAT) Batch Record Layout


Effective 6/11/99, the 1999-2000 Financial Aid Transcript (FAT) Batch Record Layout, which was posted to the Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) Web site on March 11, 1999, was revised to include the following changes to field descriptions and attributes.

Section 2.2 Request File Detail Record

Field positions 2 – 65: All occurrences of the word “provided” in the description text
were replaced with the word “requested.”

Field positions 66 – 69: “Award Year” in the attribute column was replaced with “School Year.”

Section 4.1 Request Data File Header Record

Field positions 78-85: The description text was changed to read, “Date (year, month, and day) on which the FAT was processed by NSLDS.”

Section 4.2.4 Record Type 4 (Pell Payment Record)

Field positions 137 – 144: The description text was changed to read, “An eight-digit ED
OPE Code used to identify the school and branch associated with the Pell Grant.”

Section 4.2.5 Record Type 5 (Loan Detail Record)

Field positions 137 – 144: The description text was changed to read, “An eight-digit ED
OPE Code used to identify the school attended by the student when the loan was originated.”
