PublicationDate: 3/11/98 Summary: Reprocessing for 3/9/98 & 3/10/98 Author: CPS - Central Processing System (CPS) Posted March 11, 1998 To: EDE Destination Points From: Central Processing System Date: 3/10/98 RE: Reprocessing for 3/9/98 & 3/10/98 The Central Processing System has identified a processing error for students who were processed on 3/9/98 and 3/10/98. Independent students were erroneously given a reject B (Independent, date of birth equals 9/1/82 or greater, and date of birth year is not equal to or greater than current year). Also, dependent students' dates of birth were erroneously highlighted. We apologize for this error. The CPS will reprocess these records on 3/16/98. The ISIRs for these records were sent to the Title IV WAN on 3/9/98 and 3/10/98. You have two options for handling these batches: (1) You can delete the batches without importing them into your system, or (2) You can import these batches and ignore records with a processed date of 3/9/98 and 3/10/98. Because we will provide you with corrected records, you will not need to follow up with these students to resolve the reject or highlight on the date of birth field. You also do not need to delete these records from your system. The SARs and SAR Acknowledgments generated for these processed dates will NOT be mailed to students. Again, these records will be reprocessed on 03/16/98 and can be identified by the System Generated indicator of "Z" (ISIR field #206), the transaction processed date of 3/16/98 (ISIR field #207 ), the batch ID of Y900000019980316000001 (ISIR field #209), and the reprocessed reason code of 01 (ISIR field #273). Comment 172 (which identifies a CPS reprocessed record) will be modified for these transactions on this processed date to specifically tell the students of the processing problem so they will understand why they did not receive the original SAR or SAR Acknowledgment. We regret any inconvenience this may cause you and your students. If you have any questions, please contact CPS Customer Service at 1-800-330-5947, option 8, or via e-mail at CPS@NCS.COM. You will not be charged for calls relating to this reprocessing issue. |
