RE: Pell Grant Data in National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS)

On February 23, 1999, we found a data discrepancy in the Pell-NSLDS interface. As a precaution, we stopped all Pell transmissions to NSLDS on February 24, 1999. The Pell and NSLDS staffs are working to correct the affected records within both the NSLDS and Pell system. We will inform you when we have resolved this situation and resume the daily Pell recipient data updates to NSLDS.

Data in affected range:
Transmission dates: January 1, 1999 through February 23, 1999
School years: 1998-99 and 1996-97 ONLY
Birth year: 1960 and prior

For ALL school years, Pell Grant award data for students with a birth year of 1961 or after were not affected by the data discrepancy, nor were data for school years 1993-94 through 1995-96 or 1997-98.
