On March 30th at 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, the GEAR UP Satellite Teleconference will be broadcast from Columbus, Ohio’s PBS affiliate, WOSU television station. Produced by the U.S. Department of Education and sponsored by the Ford Foundation, in partnership with the National Center for Urban Partnerships, this innovative satellite event will explain how to apply for GEAR UP grants and how to organize or reinforce local partnerships. As a learning tool, model programs and other best practices will also be featured during the teleconference. During this live telecast, participants from rural, urban and suburban sites across the country will engage in an interactive program designed to provide helpful and practical information about GEAR UP. Participants are strongly encouraged to register, free of charge, before March 19th. To register or receive more information about the teleconference, call 1-800-USA LEARN.
