Dear Colleague:

Dear Colleague:

During the past several weeks, eleven Notices of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRMs) related to the Title IV federal student aid programs have been published in the Federal Register. All of these NPRMs have been posted in both 'text' and 'pdf' format to the IFAP website, except for the "Direct Loan Program and FFELP Common Provisions" package which currently is only available in 'text' format because of technical problems at the Federal Register. All of the NPRM packages can be accessed by going directly to: ifap.ed.gov/csb_html/fedlreg.htm or, once on the IFAP site, by clicking on "New Federal Registers" under the "Bookshelf" icon.

If you have not already accessed and printed out these documents, we urge you to do so. Although the comment period has ended for one of the NPRMs, the others are still open and we encourage you to study the proposed rules and provide us with your comments. Each of the NPRMs has a specific deadline date and email address for submission of comments. Of course comments can also be mailed to the address included in each NPRM.

The subject matter of the eleven NPRMs, their publication dates, and their comment period end dates are included on the attachment to this letter.

Once again, we urge you to provide us with your comments on these important proposed rules, and we thank you for your continued support of the Title IV student assistance programs.

Sincerely,
