PublicationDate: 10/2/96 Summary: EDExpress for Windows Information Author: CPS - Central Processing System (CPS) To : EDE Destination Points From: CPS Customer Service Date : October 2, 1996 Re : EDExpress for Windows Information (294) When entering an initial application in EDExpress for Windows, which includes an assumption or reject that can be overriden, the transmission status code will remain as "N" (not ready to send) if the record is saved without marking the appropriate override code. If the FAA is performing an assumption or reject override, the applicant's information must be reviewed prior to sending the record. For this reason, if an override code is not marked, EDExpress does not automatically set the transmission status code to an "R" (ready to send) when the record is saved. For example, the applicant has reported 3 in the household and 3 in college. After you have entered the record and select "file/save," you will receive an end of entry edit asking you to verify or correct the household size and/or number in college. If you have verified the answers and they are correct, you click "OK." The record is saved and the transmission status remains as "N." To get this record ready for exporting, you must set the appropriate assumption override code (code 4 in the above example), change the transmission status code from "N" to "R", and save the record again. The record will then be marked "R" and is ready to send. This procedure is the same when performing a reject override.
