PublicationDate: 4/9/98 Summary: 1998-99 SSCR processing and message classes Author: CPS - Central Processing System (CPS) Posted April 9, 1998 TO: All EDE Destination Points FROM: CPS Customer Service RE: 1998-99 SSCR processing and message classes REMINDER Beginning in April, NSLDS is sending all new SSCR initial rosters in 1998-99 format. You should use version 4.2 of the 1998-99 EDExpress to import, update and return these and future initial rosters to NSLDS. All initial rosters will now be sent using the message class SSCR99OP. Use EDconnect's activity log to verify the filename and its location. Please note version 4.2 will NOT rename the SSCR message classes from OP to BK when you import them into the software. If you recently sent an automatic (SSCR98IN) or manual (SSCM98IN) file using EDExpress version 3.6, resulting SSCR error notification file(s) will be returned to you using the 1998-99 message class of SSCE99OP. Finish processing this SSCR roster in EDExpress version 3.6 to properly update the submitted records and to review the results. You must manually select the 1998-99 error notification message class (SSCE99OP) and file from the list because EDExpress version 3.6 defaults to 1997-98 message classes for SSCR which are no longer being used. NOTE: If you want EDExpress version 3.6 to automatically show message classes for both 1997-98 and 1998-99 on the import file list, you should change your default settings under Tools/Setup/Global/File Management. Click on the SSCR Confirmation Filename and change it from "SSCE98OP.*" to "SSCE9?OP.*" under the Default Import Directory section. Any outstanding SSCR records from pre-April batches can be resent using either version 3.6 or 4.2 of EDExpress, or updated online with NSLDS. Future error notification files for records sent from either version will be returned in 1998-99 format, using the SSCE99OP message class. We recommend finishing any pre-April, in-progress SSCR processing using EDExpress version 3.6 to ensure all records have been updated and accepted before switching to version 4.2.
