This is the 18th message in my series of reports on the status of 1997-98 application
processing. I am happy to report that we expect to have processed over 5 million
records by the end of this week and that both MDEs are currently maintaining their
contractual turnaround times for both the 1996-97 and 1997-98 processing cycles.
