This is the 17th message in my series of reports on the status of 1997-98 application
processing. I am happy to report that we have processed over 4.3 million forms
(applications and corrections) and both MDEs are currently maintaining their
contractual turnaround times for both the 1996-97 and 1997-98 processing cycles.
