SUBJECT: 1997-98 Processing Status: Update # 12

This is the 12th message in my series of reports on the status of
1997-98 application processing. I am happy to report that both
MDEs continue to maintain their contractual turnaround times for
both the 1996-97 and 1997-98 processing cycles. We are currently
in our annual peak processing period and the incoming receipts are
very high.
