This announcement is number three in the series. If you wish to be able to assist your students in applying for financial aid using FAFSA Express and would like to download the program from either the World Wide Web Page or the SFA Bulletin Board System (BBS) to your own computer, here is how to locate the program for downloading. WORLD WIDE WEB: The world wide web address for the U.S Department of Education's Web Page and FAFSA Express is: http://www.ed.gov/offices/OPE/index.html BBS : Click "Program Areas" "SFA Developed Software" "FAFSA Express" "1996-97 FAFSA Express" Instructions on how to go about downloading and installing the 1996-97 FAFSA Express Software (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are available both on the Web Page and on the BBS. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: You will need the following minimum system requirements: 486-DX/33 processor 8 MB of RAM DOS 5.0 or higher Windows 3.1 or higher Video Card with 1 MB of RAM Memory Management software Direct access to a modem (any speed up to 14.4 baud) MAKE SURE THAT ALL THIS INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE BEFORE AN APPLICANT BEGINS TO COMPLETE THE APPLICATION *Student (and student spouse's, if married) 1995 Federal Income Tax Return *Parents' (if dependent) Federal Income Tax Return *W-2 Forms or other records of income earned *Records of other untaxed income received, such as welfare benefits, social security benefits, AFDC or ADC, veterans benefits, or military or clergy allowances *Current bank statements *Current mortgage information *Records of stocks, bonds, and other investments *Business and/or farm records, if you or your parents own a business or farm *Social security card and driver's license *Alien registration card (if not an American citizen) *1996-97 FAFSA Express - Current version is 2.0.0 (The Department of Education has established a customer service line for FAFSA Express users.
