Subject: Training Resource – Upcoming Change to Federal Student Aid E-Training Web Address

Summary: This letter announces an upcoming change to the web address for the Federal Student Aid E-Training website.

Dear Colleague:

We would like to inform the community of an upcoming change to the web address (or URL) for Federal Student Aid’s training website. Federal Student Aid E-Training, currently located at https://fsatraining.info, is a training resource for the financial aid community and provides a variety of training services, including interactive online courses, learning tracks, and webinar recordings.

Updated Web Address

On April 16, 2019, the web address for Federal Student Aid E-Training will be updated to https://fsatraining.ed.gov.

This change to an “ed.gov” web address will provide consistency with other Federal Student Aid website addresses and it will also improve delivery of email communications from the website. Since the “ed.gov” address has already been “whitelisted” or approved by most Information Technology (IT) departments, future email messages from the “fsatraining.ed.gov” address are less likely to be quarantined or blocked.

Website navigation (including the login process), location of training content, and the look and feel of the website will remain the same. Only the web address will be updated.

In addition, users will continue to access learning plans, reservations, and records of learning in the Dashboard area of the website.

What Do Users Need to Do?

Users should save the updated web address (https://fsatraining.ed.gov) as a favorite and bookmark—and revise internal reference materials if needed—after implementation on April 16, 2019. Initially, there will be a temporary redirect in place, and users attempting to access the website with the old web address will be automatically redirected to the new location. However, to prevent receiving error messages in the future, users should access the website using the updated address as soon as possible after implementation.

Reminder for New Users: Create User Account

As a reminder, to access the online course offerings and other features of the Federal Student Aid E-Training website, new users must first create a user account. From the home page, choose "Create new account" and follow the instructions to create a username and password. By creating a user account, you will be able to access all training available on the website as well as submit feedback to Federal Student Aid on the training programs.

Thank you for your continued interest in and support of our training efforts. If you have questions about this change, please contact Scot Davisson at scot.davisson@ed.gov.

Sincerely,

Federal Student Aid
