Subject: Live Internet Webinar - COD System Update

Summary: This letter announces Federal Student Aid’s instructor-led, online training session that provides information on recent and upcoming changes to the COD System.

Dear Colleague:

We are pleased to announce instructor-led, online training that will describe changes and enhancements to the Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) System. After reviewing recent updates to the COD System, including modifications for the restoration of Federal Pell Grant (Pell Grant) eligibility for students who attended closed schools, we will discuss upcoming changes to school reports produced and sent by the COD System and changes related to the Year-Round Pell Grant provision. A preview of 2018-2019 enhancements will also be provided.

This training is intended for financial aid office personnel at both domestic and foreign schools who are interested in learning more about changes to COD System processing and will focus on the operational aspects of the COD System modifications.

We will present this information in one two and a half hour session offered on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 9:00 A.M. (ET), and again on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. (ET). The September 5th session has been scheduled at a time convenient for many foreign school staff; however, both sessions are open to all participants.

Note: There may be a difference between a trainee’s local time and Eastern Time. To determine local time and its Eastern Time zone equivalent, click on this link:

Advance registration is required for this training and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. To allow for as many participants as possible, we strongly encourage groups to view the webinar from a single location if accommodations allow. If viewing as a group, only one person from the group needs to register. To register for the webinar, click on this link:

Once registered, we will send an email confirmation to the trainee. The trainee should retain this confirmation, as it contains important information, including linking and log in information for the website, system test links, and cancellation information. If unable to attend, we request that the trainee cancel his or her registration so that individuals who wish to attend may do so.

Note: If you do not receive the email confirmation, please check your junk or spam email folder and notify your IT administrator that messages from the email address “FSA_Internet_Registration@ed.gov” should not be blocked.

Presentation materials will be available for each trainee to download after he or she signs in to the webinar. During the webinar, trainees will be able to ask questions electronically using their computers.

We look forward to your participation in this instructor-led, online training opportunity. If you have questions about this training opportunity, please contact Wood Mason at wood.mason@ed.gov.

Sincerely,

John Kane
