Subject: Live Internet Webinar - COD System Update: 2015-2016 New Award Year Setup

Summary: This letter announces Federal Student Aid’s instructor-led, online training session that provides information on upcoming changes to the COD System.

Dear Colleague:

We are pleased to announce instructor-led, online training that will describe upcoming changes and enhancements to the Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) System for the 2015-2016 Award Year. In particular, we will discuss changes resulting from the COD New Award Year Setup (NAYS) and attendant changes to the Federal Pell Grant (Pell Grant) and William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan) programs, including those resulting from recent legislative changes. We will also discuss changes to the StudentLoans.gov Web site that will be implemented along with the COD NAYS.

This training is intended for financial aid office personnel at both domestic and foreign schools who are interested in learning more about upcoming changes to COD System processing and will focus on the operational aspects of the COD System modifications.

We will present this information in one 75-minute session offered on Tuesday, March 17th, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. (ET), and again on Thursday, March 19th, 2015, at 9:00 A.M. (ET). The March 19th session has been scheduled at a time convenient for many foreign school staff; however, both sessions are open to all participants.

Note: There may be a difference between a trainee’s local time and Eastern Time. To determine local time and its Eastern Time zone equivalent, click on this link:

Advance registration is required for this training and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. To allow for as many participants as possible, we strongly encourage groups to view the webinar from a single location if accommodations allow. If viewing as a group, only one person from the group needs to register.

To register for the webinar, click on this link:

Once registered, we will send an e-mail confirmation to the trainee. The trainee should retain this confirmation, as it contains important information, including linking and log in information for the Web site, system test links, and cancellation information. If unable to attend, we request that the trainee cancel his or her registration so that individuals who wish to attend may do so.

Presentation materials will be available for each trainee to download after he or she signs in to the webinar. During the webinar, trainees will be able to ask questions electronically using their computers.

We look forward to your participation in this instructor-led, online training opportunity. If you have questions about this training opportunity, please contact Wood Mason at wood.mason@ed.gov.

Sincerely,

Jana Hernandes
