Subject: Live Internet - Webinar - Experimental Sites Initiative (ESI) Experiments

Summary: This letter announces an instructor-led, online webinar that will provide details about the four new experiments recently published in the Federal Register Notice.

Dear Colleague:

We are pleased to announce an instructor-led, online webinar. This webinar is intended for schools interested in applying for participation in one or more of the four new experiments announced in the July 31, 2014 Federal Register Notice. The experiments are: Competency Based Education, Limited Direct Assessment, Prior Learning Assessments, and Federal Work Study for Near-Peer Counseling.

The session will provide an overview of each of the four experiments, including the process for applying to participate in the experiments. Federal Student Aid staff will be available to answer questions at the end of the webinar.

We will present this information on August 20, 2014 from 1:30 P.M to 3:00 P.M. (ET).

Note: There may be a difference between a trainee’s local time and Eastern Time. To determine local time and its Eastern Time zone equivalent, click on this link:

Advance registration is required for this training and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. To the extent possible, we ask that you limit the number of staff your institution registers, but invite offices to view the session together.

To register for the webinar, click on this link:

Once registered, we will send an e-mail confirmation to the trainee. The trainee should retain this confirmation, as it contains important information, including linking and log in information for the Web site, system test links, and cancellation information. If unable to attend, we request that the trainee cancel his or her registration so that individuals who wish to attend may do so.

PowerPoint slides will be available for each trainee to download after he or she signs in to the webinar. There will be a question and answer period at the conclusion of the presentation.

We look forward to your participation in this instructor-led, online webinar. If you have questions about this webinar, please contact Michael Cagle at Michael.Cagle@ed.gov.

Sincerely,
Jeff Baker, Director
