Subject: Live Internet Webinars - 150% Direct Subsidized Loan Limit Webinar #4 and Webinar #5: New NSLDS Program-Level Enrollment Reporting Requirements
Summary: This letter announces the next two webinars in a series of instructor-led, online training sessions providing information on the implementation of the 150% Direct Subsidized Loan Limit. These two webinars will be offered in July 2014, and will be co-sponsored by NASFAA and AACRAO. The webinars will focus on the new NSLDS program-level enrollment reporting requirements.
Dear Colleague:
We are pleased to announce that in July 2014, we will present, in co-sponsorship with the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) and the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO), the fourth and fifth in a series of webinars on the requirements related to the implementation of the 150 percent time limit for a student to receive Direct Subsidized Loans. Specifically, these webinars will focus on new requirements and enhancements to the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) enrollment reporting process. As the co-sponsorships indicate, this information is critical to both financial aid administrators and to institutional registrars. Both must collaborate to ensure that the 150% Direct Subsidized Loan Limit is correctly implemented. We highly encourage participation in the webinars by representatives from both the financial aid office and the registrar’s office.
150% Direct Subsidized Loan Limit Webinar #4
The webinar, titled "General Overview of Program-Level Enrollment Reporting," will provide information on the new enrollment reporting file layouts that schools must use to report program-level enrollment information to the Department in support of its implementation of the 150% Direct Subsidized Loan Limit. This webinar will focus on when program-level reporting is required, the data items to be included in the program-level reporting, and the definitions of those data items.
We will present this information in one 90-minute session offered on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 and repeated on Wednesday, July 16, 2014. The webinar will begin at 1:30 P.M. (ET) starting with a presentation of approximately one hour followed by a Question and Answer period.
150% Direct Subsidized Loan Limit Webinar #5
The webinar, titled "Critical Details to Proper Program-Level Enrollment Reporting," will provide more detailed information on the new enrollment reporting file layouts schools must use to report program-level enrollment information to the Department, information about special programs and exceptions, and a discussion of how NSLDS will use the institutionally reported program-level enrollment information in support of the 150% limit. This webinar will include specific examples of program-level enrollment reporting—why certain situations must be reported and how to correctly report them.
We will present this webinar in one 90-minute session offered on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 and repeated on Thursday, July 31, 2014. The webinars will begin at 1:30 P.M. (ET) starting with a presentation of approximately one hour followed by a Question and Answer period.
