Subject: Live Internet Webinar - Gainful Employment Webinar #10: Understanding the NSLDS Corrections Functionality
Summary: This letter announces an instructor-led, online training session that will provide information about recent modifications to GE corrections functionality on NSLDS.
Dear Colleague:
We are pleased to announce that on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. (ET) we will be presenting a webinar designed to provide institutions that participate in the Federal student assistance programs authorized by Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended, with information on submitting corrections and updates to the Department for information previously reported for their programs that prepare students for gainful employment (GE Programs). Although institutions should not report GE Program information for the recently ended 2011-2012 Award Year, institutions may voluntarily submit corrections to previously reported GE information for the 2010-2011 Award Year or previous Award Years.
This webinar will discuss enhancements to the GE Program functions of the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) for institutions that choose to update the GE Program information they previously reported. These enhancements, completed this past summer and described in Gainful Employment Electronic Announcement #40, posted on August 17, 2012 to the Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) Web site, include the removal of several data element fields, updated functionality for GE data corrections, a new record type for batch files, the new GE Data Extract File Report (GENEX1), and the revised NSLDS Gainful Employment Submittal Template.
Federal Student Aid staff will present this webinar in a one-hour session on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. (ET).
