Summary: This letter announces Federal Student Aid’s instructor-led, online training session on Direct Loan processing in COD and StudentLoans.gov for the 2011-2012 Award Year.

Dear Colleague:

We are pleased to announce instructor-led, online training that will assist schools successfully process William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan) Program data using the Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) System and the StudentLoans.gov Web site. We will focus on the 2011-2012 Award Year but will also discuss enhancements to each system for 2012-2013. This training is intended for financial aid office personnel at both domestic and foreign schools who are interested in learning more about how COD and StudentLoans.gov interact while processing Direct Loan data.

We will present this information in one 90-minute session offered on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at 9:00 A.M. (ET) and again on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. (ET).

The October 18th session has been scheduled at a time convenient for many foreign school staff; however, both sessions are open to all participants.

Once registered, we will send an e-mail confirmation to the trainee. The trainee should retain this confirmation, as it contains important information, including linking and log in information for the Web site, system test links, and cancellation information. If unable to attend, we request that the trainee cancel his or her registration so that individuals who wish to attend may do so.

PowerPoint slides will be available for each trainee to download after he or she signs in to the webinar. During the webinar, trainees will be able to ask questions electronically using their computers.
