Subject: Live Internet Webinar - Additional Information on the NSLDS Gainful Employment Reporting Process

Summary: This letter announces the fourth in a series of webinars presented by Federal Student Aid on the regulatory requirements for institutions that offer educational programs that prepare students for gainful employment in a recognized occupation. This webinar, scheduled for October 13, 2011, will provide updated technical information on reporting gainful employment data to NSLDS.

Dear Colleague:

We are pleased to announce that on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 1:30 P.M. (ET) we will be presenting the fourth in a series of webinars designed to provide institutions that participate in the Federal student assistance programs authorized by Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended, with information on new regulatory requirements related to Title IV-eligible educational programs that lead to gainful employment in a recognized occupation (GE Programs). This webinar will provide an updated technical overview of the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) gainful employment reporting process.

Note: We first presented this information in a webinar held in June 2011. Based on feedback from participants, as well as information provided to the community in recent updates to the NSLDS Gainful Employment User Guide, we have updated and expanded the information presented in this webinar. We encourage anyone interested in the most current information about NSLDS gainful employment reporting to attend.

The webinar will include information about choosing a gainful employment reporting format, including a discussion of the online reporting option using NSLDS Professional Access. School setup for submission of data to NSLDS will be discussed, as well as reviewing and correcting gainful employment data. Detailed information about each batch file format will be provided, and different scenarios for reporting gainful employment data will be explored.

Federal Student Aid staff will present this webinar on NSLDS gainful employment reporting in a 90-minute session on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 1:30 P.M. (ET).
