Summary: This letter announces Federal Student Aid's instructor-led, online training session on federal student loan default prevention and federal student loan servicing.

Dear Colleague:

We are pleased to announce instructor-led, online training that will provide an overview of student loan delinquency and default prevention, as well as information about the servicing of student loans by the federal loan servicers. The training will discuss the importance of school participation in delinquency and default aversion activities and compare traditional default prevention strategies with targeted, success-based interventions. This training is intended for financial aid office personnel, student success staff, and others interested in preventing student loan default.

Federal Student Aid staff will present this information in a two-hour session offered on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. (ET).

Advance registration is required for this training and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. To register for the webinar, click on this link:

Once registered, we will send an e-mail confirmation to the trainee. The trainee should retain this confirmation, as it contains important information, including linking and log in information for the Web site, system test links, and cancellation information. If unable to attend, we request that the trainee cancel his or her registration so that individuals who wish to attend may do so.

PowerPoint slides will be available for each trainee to download after he or she signs in to the webinar. During the webinar, trainees will be able to ask questions electronically using their computers.
