Subject: Additional Sessions - Live Internet Webinar on What’s New for Direct Loans

Summary: This letter announces additional sessions for Federal Student Aid's instructor-led, online training on recent enhancements to the Direct Loan Program, including the StudentLoans.gov Web site.

Dear Colleague:

Last month in Dear Colleague Letter ANN-10-14, we announced instructor-led, online training that focuses on recent enhancements to the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan) Program, including the new StudentLoans.gov Web site. The webinar is designed for financial aid administrators at schools currently participating in, or transitioning to, the Direct Loan Program, who would like to learn more about these enhancements.

Federal Student Aid staff presented this information in a 60-minute session offered on May 4, 2010 and the session was very well attended. To ensure we serve everyone interested in this training, we have added two new sessions. These additional sessions will be offered at 11:00 A.M. (ET) on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 and at 11:00 A.M. (ET) on Tuesday, June 22, 2010. Spaces are also still available for the previously-announced session on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. (ET).

Once registered, we will send an e-mail confirmation to the trainee. The trainee should retain this confirmation, as it contains important information, including linking and log in information for the Web site, and system test links.

PowerPoint slides will be available for each trainee to download after he or she signs in to the webinar. During the webinar, trainees will be able to ask questions electronically using their computers.

We look forward to your participation in this instructor-led, online training opportunity. If you have questions about this training opportunity, please contact Craig Rorie at craig.rorie@ed.gov.
