Subject: Live Internet Webinar - FFEL, Direct Loan, and Perkins Loan Final Regulations
Summary: This letter announces Federal Student Aid’s instructor-led, online training session on final regulations that were published in the Federal Register on October 28 and 29, 2009. These final regulations relate to changes to the FFEL, Direct Loan, and Perkins Loan programs made by the HEOA.
Dear Colleague:
We are pleased to announce instructor-led, online training that will focus on final regulations related to changes to the Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL), William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan), and Federal Perkins Loan (Perkins Loan) programs made by the Higher Education Opportunity Act (the HEOA), Pub. L. 110-315. These final regulations were published on October 28, 2009 and October 29, 2009 in the Federal Register. The training is intended for all participants in the FFEL, Direct Loan, and/or Perkins Loan programs, including schools, lenders, and guaranty agencies.
Federal Student Aid staff will present this information in a 90-minute session offered on Friday, November 13, 2009 at 2:30 P.M. (ET) and once again on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 2:30 P.M. (ET).

Once registered, we will send an e-mail confirmation to the trainee. The trainee should retain this confirmation, as it contains important information, including linking and log in information for the Web site, system test links, and cancellation information. If unable to attend, we request that the trainee cancel his or her registration so that individuals who wish to attend may do so.
PowerPoint slides will be available for each trainee to download after he or she signs in to the webinar. During the webinar, trainees will be able to ask questions electronically using their computers.
