Summary: This letter announces Federal Student Aid’s release of a full version of EDExpress Basics for 2009-2010 that is compliant with Section 508 of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Dear Colleague:

We are pleased to announce our release of a full version of EDExpress Basics for 2009-2010 that is compliant with Section 508 of the Americans with Disabilities Act. This is the final release related to EDExpress Basics for 2009-2010, the Web-based training product that teaches users the basic skills needed to access and navigate the 2009-2010 EDExpress and EDconnect software.

The Section 508-compliant full version is available on the Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP) Web site at http://ifap.ed.gov/edexpress/index.htm. After navigating to this URL, users will select the EDExpress Basics 2009-2010 Text Only Version and follow the instructions for the installation of the necessary files to actively engage in the training.

This self-paced training is intended for financial aid office staff with day-to-day responsibilities that involve using the EDExpress software. By using the software in a simulated environment, users will gain an understanding of the fundamental EDExpress functions. As such, this training is a resource for on-the-job training and re-training in the use of EDExpress.

We look forward to your use of EDExpress Basics for 2009-2010. If you have questions about this Web-based training product, please contact David Bartlett at david.bartlett@ed.gov or Mark Gerhard at mark.gerhard@ed.gov.

Sincerely,

Jana Hernandes
