Summary: This letter announces a suite of Federal Student Aid instructor-led, online training sessions on Direct Loans. We will offer the entire webinar training suite during five different weeks in October, November, and December 2009.
Dear Colleague:
We are pleased to announce a suite of instructor-led, online training sessions on the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan) Program. The webinar suite consists of six different 90-minute sessions related to key aspects of Direct Loan processing. We will offer the entire webinar training suite during five different weeks in October, November, and December 2009 to provide ample opportunity for those interested in attending.
The Direct Loan webinar training suite consists of the following sessions:

Target Audience and Topic Information for All Webinars
We provide target audience and topic information for each of the six 90-minute webinar training suite sessions in the attachment to this letter titled "Direct Loan Webinar Training Suite Session Descriptions."
Schedule and Registration Information for All Webinars
Advance registration is required for each Direct Loan webinar training suite session and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. We provide the schedule and registration links for each session in the attachment to this letter titled "Direct Loan Webinar Training Suite Session Schedule and Registration Links." The schedule information is organized by training week and presented in date/time order.
The training weeks are as follows:
Week 1 - October 6-8, 2009
Week 2 - October 20-22, 2009
Week 3 - November 3-5, 2009
Week 4 - November 17-19, 2009
Week 5 - December 8-10, 2009
General Information for All Webinars
In the attachment to this letter titled "Direct Loan Webinar Training Suite Session Schedule and Registration Links," the start time for each session is shown as Eastern Time. There may be a difference between a trainee’s local time and Eastern Time. To determine local time and its Eastern Time zone equivalent, click on this link:
Once registered, we will send an e-mail confirmation to the trainee. The trainee should retain this confirmation, as it contains important information, including linking and log in information for the Web site, system test links, and cancellation information. If unable to attend, we request that the trainee cancel his or her registration so that individuals who wish to attend may do so.
PowerPoint slides will be available for each trainee to download after he or she signs in to the webinar. During the webinar, trainees will be able to ask questions electronically using their computers.
