Subject: Additional Session - Live Internet Webinar on Direct Loan Processing for EDExpress for Windows Users in September 2009

Summary: This letter announces an additional session for Federal Student Aid’s instructor-led, online training on Direct Loans using EDExpress. The additional webinar session will be presented on September 22, 2009.

Dear Colleague:

Earlier this year in Dear Colleague Letter ANN-09-14, we announced instructor-led, online training that focuses on William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan) processing via the EDExpress for Windows software product. EDExpress for Windows is available for download on our Federal Student Aid Download (FSAdownload) Web site, located at https://www.fsadownload.ed.gov. We originally scheduled three sessions for this training, intended for individuals on the financial aid staff at Direct Loan schools who are using EDExpress, during July and August 2009.

The two online sessions for this training held to date were very well attended, and the third session will be as well. Given this response, we want to offer another session to ensure that we serve everyone interested in this training. We will present the additional 90-minute session on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 3:00 P.M. (ET).

Note: There may be a difference between a trainee’s local time and Eastern Time. To determine local time and its Eastern Time zone equivalent, click on this link:

Advance registration is required for this training and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. To register, click on this link:

http://www.fsaregistration.ed.gov/profile/form/index.cfm?PKformID=0x4574648cd4

Once registered, we will send an e-mail confirmation to the trainee. The trainee should retain this confirmation, as it contains important information, including linking and log in information for the Web site, system test links, and cancellation information. If unable to attend, we request that the trainee cancel his or her registration so that individuals who wish to attend may do so.

PowerPoint slides will be available for each trainee to download after he or she signs in to the webinar. During the webinar, trainees will be able to ask questions electronically using their computers.

We look forward to your participation in this instructor-led, online training opportunity. If you have questions about this training opportunity, please contact Barbara Davis at barbara.davis@ed.gov.

Sincerely,

Jana Hernandes
