Dear Partner:

We are pleased to announce our 2005-06 instructor-led online training on Direct Loan Processing using EDExpress and the Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) system. This two-hour session will be offered from Early June until mid-August. Registration is required for these sessions; please click on the link below to choose the class that best fits your schedule

All classes will be conducted using the FSA's Distance Education system, which will allow you to participate without leaving your desk.

The Direct Loan Processing training module is aimed at intermediate/advanced level users of the EDExpress Software Suite. This training is designed to improve the accuracy and efficiency of your institution's Direct Loan awarding, processing and disbursements processes. We will cover enhancements to EDExpress and focus on how these features impact your business processes. (Note: Beginning users should first complete the EDExpress Basics Training Module located at http://ifap.ed.gov/edexpress/index.htm.)

Each Direct Loan Processing Training session will be conducted by two federal trainers and will last two hours. The sessions will provide hands-on exercises in using EDExpress, along with supplemental study materials that can be downloaded from the web. During the session, you will be able to interact with the instructors and classmates via telephone conference as well as ask questions using your computer's keyboard.

Because this is an on-line session, you will need to have a computer with an Internet connection and a separate phone line to access the audio portion of the training. Please click on the links below to determine if your system meets the requirements to access the session.

You will also be required to download the training materials (training workbook and training-specific version of EDExpress) prior to the session. The download link will be provided in the registration confirmation.

Classes are scheduled from early June through August. Please check the registration page <http://www.register123.com/event/profile/web/index.cfm?PKwebID=0x11458d874 > for a list of classes. We will be offering a range of days and times to better accommodate your busy schedules.
