Dear Partner:

FSA University is pleased to announce that EDExpress Basics, a computer/web based training product is now available to all schools through the Internet. EDExpress Basics will focus on teaching users the basic skills required to access and navigate the 2003-04 EDExpress and Edconnect software. A beginning user will learn the functions and practice using the software in a simulated environment.

This product is intended as a resource for on-the-job training and re-training of financial aid office personnel who have day-to-day responsibilities for using EDExpress.

Types of basic skills that will be taught in the web-based training include:

EDExpress Menus
Navigation
Importing and Exporting Data
Using EDconnect to transmit data
Using Help screens
Queries
Setup screens for all modules
Functionality of all EDExpress modules/screens
Global functions: printing, multiple entry, and so forth.

To access EDExpress Basics, go to http://fsa4schools.ed.gov/edexpressbasics

We will release the complete package of web training in phases, just as the EDExpress software is released. This first phase (March 2003) includes Global functions and Application Processing. The second phase will contain the Pell and Direct Loan modules, and is scheduled for release in late Spring 2003. The last phase includes Packaging, and is scheduled for release in Summer 2003.

We hope this web-based training product will be a useful tool for providing your staff with accessible and timely training in basic EDExpress skills.

Sincerely,
